Quality and Rigorous Education

Kansas’ education system has low standards, lacks purpose, uses resources ineffectively, and has failed to challenge students. I passionately believe the purpose of education should be to teach students to read, write, and do basic math. Students with these skills will be able to learn to critically think and will be well prepared for career, college, or wherever their life takes them.

2025 Session - Real, effective change takes time, and no quick fix or overnight solution will address the deeper issues we face in our education systems. Over the past year, I’ve focused on listening, learning, and asking questions. I've built relationships with educators, parents, and community leaders. I’ve taken time to study the data and budgets to see where we can do better. As we head into the 2026 legislative session, my goal is to turn what I’ve learned into meaningful action. Stay tuned, we have work to do!

Property Taxes

Decreasing property tax is crucial for our rural areas and our state. A decrease in property tax will stimulate our local economy and attract new residents and businesses, promoting growth and development.

2025 Session - I voted yes to Senate Bill 35 which eliminated the 1.5 mills of property tax for state buildings and institutions, leaving the only property tax collected by the state to the 20 mills for education. However, we left unfinished business at the table with regards to addressing the overall issue of property tax in our state. I look forward to returning to session in 2026 to address this major issue.

Pro-Life

As a single, teen mom, I learned firsthand the immeasurable value of life and the strength that comes from choosing to protect it. Abortion is an emotionally charged issues because the lives of the mother and baby are at stake. I want to save as many lives as possible by helping mothers know they have good options and by caring for them up to and after the birth. Many women would not end their baby's life if society supported and not shamed them.

2025 Session -

- I voted yes to House Bill 2062 which directs courts to consider child support payments to women from the moment of conception and extends tax exemptions to unborn children, solidifying into statute that an unborn child is, in fact, a child. I also voted to override the Governor's veto of this bill.

- I voted yes and overrode the Governor's veto of Senate Sub for House Bill 2382 which requires schools to include scientifically accurate fetal development videos in science curriculum

- I voted for and overrode the Governor's veto for Senate Bill 125. This was our Budget bill that included $3 million in funding for pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes across Kansas (a $1 million increase from previous years).

- House Bill 2307 received my support and bipartisan support to ensure women and families facing a prenatal or postnatal diagnosis of a chromosomal condition, receive accurate, up-to-date, and supportive information and resources.

Transgenderism / Mental Health

Transgenderism in youth is a mental health disorder. Period. Irreversible damage is occurring to our youth. I am dedicated to protecting our children’s mental health and their bodies from the psychological, biological, and surgical abuse of the transgenderism craze.

2025 Session - Senate Bill 63: Prohibits health care providers from providing surgical and chemical treatment to minors struggling with transgenderism. I voted yes to this bill and voted to override the Governor’s veto to ensure that minors are not subjected to irreversible medical treatments under the guise of so-called "gender-affirming care."

Medical Tyranny

I am deeply troubled by the numerous instances of medical negligence, mismanagement, and denial of care we have endured over the past several years. I am committed to advocating for medical freedom to ensure that medical authoritarianism will never happen again in the guise of mandates and restrictions. We must ensure that individuals and parents have the right to choose alternative or complementary treatments beyond the mainstream medical establishment.

2025 Session:

- I voted yes to Senate Bill 250 “Right to Try for Individualized Treatments Act” allowing manufacturers to provide experimental, personalized drugs or medical devices to patients with life-threatening or severely debilitating illnesses when standard treatments have failed.

- I voted yes to House Bill 2294 to makes changes to vaccination/immunization requirements for child care settings allowing for parents to refuse vaccination requirements that they believe will violate their sincerely held religious beliefs.
